Well Tim, 25's headlight did make it to the 41. This headlight was also hidden for decades under 41s box headlight at the farm. In the 70s? KBF replaced the surround on 41's front but kept the door. The RGS replaced the front section of the smokebox. See the weld line in your photo.
I believe the story of 41 receiving 25's front came from Josie Crum, or Ferrell's book.
25 was parted out all over the other RGS locos. 20, 41, and 40 received parts. 20 has the most, tender, main drivers, valve gear parts, ect. But not 25's cab. This is another old story. Look at the photos, 25's cab and 20's cab post wreck are not the same.
