Kevin,
Yes the last mainline water stop for a southbound train was 1/2 mile north of the Head Tide depot. Otherwise you had to wait until you got to Wiscasset. There used to be a tank at Bailey's which was about half a mile north of the Wiscasset yard but later the railroad had the water crane near the shop building. The water crane was fed by the town water system.
