Beyer Peacock only built one more compound Garrat. In 1927 the company delivered four 2-8-0 + 0-8-2s to Burma Railways. The first of these was a compound design with the high pressure cylinders on the rear and the low pressure cylinders on the front unit. "The compound, due to the weight of its large low pressure cylinders, was somewhat heavier than either of the simple types, despite having reduced coal and water capacities. In service it showed no advantage over the simple expansion type, and in further orders, compounding was abandoned" (A.E. Durrant in Garrat Locomotives of the World).
