A question?
Looks like rotary run 2020 is set, tickets sold and everybody participating is getting set with their hotels, travel. Should be fantastic!
What would folks like to see in future rotary runs? John and Stathi took a bold move and got things going for this winter. A big thank you is in order!
Keep in mind these events have to pay the bills. Things like a rotary run require multiple crews and equipment that's used infrequently requiring more work than normal. Also, there's got to be a plan to get participants out in case of an emergency/medical. There's a reason 2020 is only going to Cumbres and no further.
A thought from myself. Why not run it out of Antonio? Needs less snort to push it for the bulk of the line. Follow it with a chase train with gondola in the front. Open the entire line if enough participants. The dilemma with that idea is no accommodations on that side of the line. Snowmobiles waiting can get riders out if needed.
Also some ideas financially to make this worthwhile and possibly a fundraiser. 150 riders a day at $600.00 is the upcoming events parameters. I wouldn't expect different for 2021 onward. Then again if putting OY at the front of every train during the season yielded 90k daily, that might not be a bad idea!
