We recently finished the restoration of D&RG stock car 5672 at the NCNG museum. Not to be negative but what we found is that most of the sills were loaded with dry rot and were not usable. The center sills were in the best shape due to about eight feet of both ends were spliced in oak sills to help support the heavier draft gear and buffer blocks from the 1926 rebuild. Its possible that you may be able to reuse the oak sidewall uprights from what I can see. In regards to our car, there was so much damage that we only used two good boards as legacy boards. We essentially had to build a brand new car which is why we took the car back to as built in 1904 but displayed circa 1911 with the extra safety appliances that was required at that time. We did do a lot of research on our car and would be happy to share our information with you when the time comes. Posting a couple of finish photo's. John Christensen
