Not speaking officially for BNSF but as someone that works at BNSF and has an idea of what the general stance towards these things is:

If you think BNSF cares about the 71 - you are mistaken. Again - not an official BNSF view - but it strikes me that BNSF is working towards solidifying their brand and is not interested whatsover in "fallen flags" or otherwise.
