Herb,
The Jackets on bo th the cylinders and boilers are 100% cosmetic. A couple of minutes with a pop riveter and some sheet metal and some black paint and the touristas will never know the difference.
Now, it's what's under the lagging that counts.
As far back as 1976 I inquired as to the 346 putting in an appearance at the Loop. Even back then I was told that you'd have to follow her with a bucket to pick up the parts as they fell off.
Sounds like it's time to import Chris Ahrens again....
