This is the Modern Golden Age of Trains

October 11, 2019 10:58PM
I was thinking about how many locomotives and trains we are seeing operate these days that just 15-20 years ago we never would have dreamed would run again:

- the 315. Think of all the years this engine sat on the side of US 550 in Durango
- the 168. I don't think it running again ever crossed anyone's mind
- the 463 All those years as pile of parts in the Antonito engine house
- the SP18 and have it operate in Colorado
- the 493 almost back after all those years rusting away in Silverton
- the 491
- the rotary
- RGS 20 coming soon
- the 4014. This is miracle considering all the years the UP said NEVER, it's too big.
- the historic fleet the Friends are working on

I'm sure I'm leaving things off, but i find this list to be amazing! This is the new golden age.
