Chris comes through again, I'm pretty sure there's nothing that exists that can stump him.

This is the second phase of the Utah & Pleasant Valley mainline. Originally, it ran straight down Center Street from the Utah Southern depot at 1500 West and took a hard right to run south down Main Street. Later, it was decided to interchange with the Utah Southern at Provo instead and a new main was built that ran along the north bank of Hobble Creek to 400 West where it turned right and ran north to Provo along the current Union Pacific Provo Subdivision alignment. When the Rio Grande Western was standard gauged the 4th West route was extended south and the old Hobble Creek grade abandoned.

The Utah & Pleasant Valley became one of the stepping stones in the construction of the D&RGW. Attached is an overlay of a D&RGW consolidation on Main Street, taken from the corner of Main and 300 South.
