Colorado Vacation 1963 - some post-Durango pics

Leaving Durango, we took a shot of 315 on display. She looked pretty good, but not so much on our later trips. Zig-zagged a route to LA where I found Knotts' ex-Colorado trains much more fun than even Disney. But geez, why in the 1960s did so many tourist roads think they needed phony diamond stacks, even the Rio Grande. It's so much better seeing mostly authentic configurations and paint schemes today. Still, without these operations, we wouldn't have nearly the wealth of steam we have today.

Headbacking back east we passed through the northern part of narrow gauge country,
with shots of 278 in Montrose and 268 in Gunnison as they appeared back then.
