Given a choice to ride a train or follow a train, which would a kid choose? Even most adults? The obvious choice is to RIDE the train.
How could you have known that there would be many other chances to ride the train to Silverton, but be very few chances to follow the train to Farmington?
In 1963 there were 5 years left of trains to Farmington. Who would have ever guessed that over 50 years later there would still be trains from Durango to Silverton to ride.
