Quite correct. K-37 tenders are very wide, and those big cast steps stick out even further. For some reason, there is no mention of tenders in the folio sheets, just width over running boards (and therefore the cab) and width over cylinders. If one did not know any better, that wide tender could cause trouble.
I recall switching with 497 was a pain. Not only did you have to see around that wide tender, but the coal board extension was even wider and stuck out right into the engineer's vision when backing up.....
