Seven narrow minded souls from Iowa Left Chama after riding in the chartered caboose, this was in the late summer of 1998 . We followed the old grade the best as we could all the way to Durango. Things got a lot harder to find after we passed the Navajo lake bypass. The best part of the trip was the Gomez store and the water tank, both were still standing, and in place Alas not so today This was the first time I" de been to Goto since I was there on the train in 1958. Glad you had a good time. Remember a bad day in the San Juans is always better than any good day where else!
