A comment
:
It was #48
7, not #488, that we ne'er-do-wells
painted up grotesqueified in 2010 to stand in for #483 circa September, 1970, for the
40th Anniversary commemoration of the arrival of he first C&TS train to enter Chama. See [
ngdiscussion.net]
et sq. for photos; Jason Rose's video of the re-enactment train is at [
ngdiscussion.net]). My daughter Cindy, whom I had not seen for several months, arrived in Chama for the celebration late one evening and on her way to meet me at breakfast the next day spotted the Faux 483. Her first words to me were not
"Hi, Daddy!" but
"WHAT did you DO to that POOR Locomotive!!"
John Bush is planning to celebrate the
50th Anniversary of the C&TS (and 130th anniversary of the arrival of the D&RGW to Cumbres Pass and Chama) with a wide variety of special events next year.
. . . and a question
:
Does the name of the whistle manufacturer mentioned above include one 'n' or two?? (see highlighted spellings, above.)
