Today (August 22) the K28 was 473, looking very good. Made a short side trip from our Ruby Lake hike to Silverton to try to find out what is happening with SP 18 tomorrow. The 473 crew was of the view that 18 would leave after the regular trains and go all the way to Silverton. So I'm hoping that the charter actually runs this way - one more chance for 18 action from line side. I have coach tickets for Saturday, open car space being sold out, so chasing might be the better option. If anyone has more info, please post.
