Re: Is this 492 rock?

Thanks for posting this Olaf. I remember getting those newsletters in the mail during the 60's, and we looked forward to them each time. My brother must have them stashed away at his place somewhere cause I haven't seen them for years.
I alway felt a connection to this incident, since I have film footage in one of our videos of 492 with its first run after the rebuild and the smokebox off 490. I rode behind 490 in 1956, on my first visit to NG country when I was 5.
We have footage of 490 on that trip, and by someone other than my dad. I guess now we also can see why 490 was the first to be scrapped (aside from 485 that is).
