The standard plans book from CRRM indicates that the distance from the top of the rail to the bottom of the dangling iron rods should be 17' for NG. The well knitted Manilla ropes attached to the iron rods should dangle 6" more than the least amount of headroom in the structure. The legs should be 8' from the track center-line with a 2'6" radius at the top. The structure is made from old 2" boiler flues according to the parts list. The Y casting for the legs is shown to have a 25 degree angle for the legs. The plans call for 17 1/4" diameter ropes for a single track design.
