A Great New Book On SP Narrow Gauge #18 Is Out!

In case you had not seen this announcement, the Carson & Colorado Ry boys have a great new book out on their #18. The book covers the history of the C&C, the engine, and the amazing stories about how she was first saved and donated for display in Independence, CA and later restored back to operation. Well worth the modest price. The book is an easy read and has great historic B&W photos and some nice modern color ones too.

The author is Randy Babcock, the Chief Mechanical Officer for the Durango & Silverton Railway, Vice President of Carson & Colorado Railway and one of the original volunteers. In this book we follow the journey of the Slim Princess restoration, beginning in Dehy Park to her present day in Durango, Colorado at the Durango & Silverton Railway.
