Still a block from my books but I'm sure D&RG was bigger. During the period it was leasing the D&RGW Ry in the early 1880's it was over 2000 miles total. Even as late as the 1920's D&RGW had over 7 or 8 hundred miles (not counting RGS).
Utah & Northern may have been bigger at it's peak to, pushing 1000 miles, IIRC.
And i think the road that became SLSW (forget the name) aka Cotton Belt later on was bigger also.
