There were actually two slim rail lines running east from Cincinnati, the Cincinnati and Eastern, which made it to Portsmouth. According to the Ohio Department of Transportation 2016 map (latest I could find), it appeared that most of it was in use then. The other was the Cincinnati Georgetown and Portsmouth, one of two Ohio narrow gauge roads to make it into the 20th century. Locally, however, it's probably better known for its interurban days.
