At the bottom of the switchback was a log loading site:
The grade is on the right and the depression on the left held a donkey engine.
Plenty of wire rope left behind:
The very end of this branch entered dense brush that was impassable. I backtracked up to the main line and continued my journey out. About another 1/2 mile (4 miles out on the line) I came to a spur that headed back up the hillside:
The grade beyond this appears wide enough for two tracks for at least several hundred feet:
