Comfort food in Durango

On another forum there were some posts about Durango eating places, and I figured this might be a good place for some more info. There are lots of places to eat in Durango, but what I have found challenging is finding a coffee shop for a simple quick comfort food kind of dinner, the kind of place that is useful after a long day on the line and an up early the next morning to get back out on the line kind of place. Lots of fancy upscale ethnic or BBQ kinds of places, but what about say meat loaf. A place with easy parking that you can get into and out of reasonably quickly. My default location is the Denny's, but are there any alternatives that are a bit more interesting. The Strater used to have a great coffee shop, but now it is an upscale steakhouse (although they do have good and reasonably priced breakfasts).
