Fun mainly, I can stick them in minecraft using a mod & that’s pretty neat, but it’s mainly just a way for me to relive stress/have a goal on days when I have nothing planned.
I wish one day I could get them into a train simulator, but that requires a whole host of skills like texturing, unwrapping, animation, bump and normal mapping, exporting, debugging, probably a fair bit of scripting as well along with other things depending on the train simulator you are trying to model for. ^^;
All that is a little beyond me, normally for most game/3D companies you would have one highly specialized/skilled person for each task, or 2-3 of them. You have to know more and be proficient at all the steps of the process if you are freelance/solo.
