Brown Bear cafe and Handlebars both in Greene Street. Both are fast at getting people served quickly.
There is a lot to see in Silverton, far more than the train stop over allows. A seperate car trip will allow time to visit the depot, SN depot, SN engine house which is in the process of restoration, the freight stock restored by the DRHS which stands by the engine house and the rebuilt SN oil shed. Not too sure about RR yards but there are some sidings including the Shenandoah with some freight cars in poor repair which the D&S is removing one by one for restoration. The 493 was here but is in the Durango yard being converted to oil. The local museum has some very interesting displays of mining history.
You can easily spend the day looking around, perhaps driving up to Eureka and the Sunnyside mine though any further to Animas Forks probaby needs a high clearance car. Or detour to the Ols 100 mine tour. It's well signposted
