I don't own any photographic evidence to post, but not all cabeese were this way all the time. 0404 had this complex cut lever, but after the mid 40's shop was like a normal freight car with a one sided solid cut lever. 0306 is currently this way too. Pictures of 0400 and 0401 show freight car setups as well. Im sure many more were this way, but this is just a few examples....
