It appears to me that most narrow gauge freight cars use a convention rod the can be pivoted up to uncouple the car. Except for cabooses, they have a 2-piece lever pivoted in the middle. Both appear to use a "lock lifter" that appears to provide a little bit of adjustment.

Anyone know why cabooses are different? Is there a name for either one?
