From the book of Clyde Putman, "All K-1's are exactly the same and are used with 6" and 8" cylinders.
K-2's are used with 10" cylinders.
The rule of thumb is that K-1's are for narrow gauge and K-2's for standard gauge, but surely there are exceptions.
K-1 and K-2 work just the same so the schematics you see are good for both.
They even LOOK the same, but the internal ports are different for the different air volume.
I am pretty sure the only exterior difference is that K-1 attaches with 2 bolts, and the K-2 with 3 bolts. Probably to be sure they are mating with the correct cylinder."
