Olaf, you could be right. I had Jimmy do some research and on June 27, 1966 My brother, father and I chased a work extra with two water cars. That was a roundtrip Durango to Gato. We only chased as far as Gato, and apparently left for home. At least I think we left for home right away. If we had gone back to Durango why did we not chase the train at the same time. Anyway I do not have an explanation of the roundhouse shot with all the engines. The image has a 66 date on it though. I just assumed we stayed overnight in Alamosa on the 27th, and shot this on the 28th before heading home. I know I was not there in 1967, and in 1968 I shot nothing but color slides. The only other possible explanation would be 1960-61, but that year we chased a freight from Alamosa west with 494 and 495. Clearly 494 is out of service in my black and white. The shot near the shop I believe is either 1956(Memorial Day time frame), or 1960-61. More likely 1956.
