So which 484 run did you chase to Alamosa? 484 only ran to Alamosa twice in in June 1966. The first time was on June 3 on the train that I chased with John Charles and Steve Patterson and posted recently. The second time was on June 17 when 484 ran as helper to 487 Chama to Cumbres on the final Illini narrow gauge trip, continuing light engine to Alamosa. I only got to chase that run from Antonito to Alamosa. It seems like we would have run into each other on one of these trips. 484 did run to Alamosa again on July 1 as road engine, with 498 running light engine ahead of 484.
Actually, looking at this again, June 3 is out, because 498 was in Durango that day. June 17 is also out, because 492 is absent. 492 made a one-day run to Durango the next day to bring the passenger cars back to Durango for Silverton service (I chased 492 that day from Alamosa to Durango, my mid-week days-off schedule at Climax making this possible). That leaves July 1 for your Alamosa photos when all the engines in the roundhouse were actually present by my calculations. OK, so these are trivia of long forgotten days, but it is still fun to solve a puzzle like this.
