The American Locomotive Works at Schenectady, New York built the locomotive as their construction number 5007 in 1899.

Now that she is back at Golden, I got to worndering; was she built with an iron boiler in 1899, and got a steel replacement at some later time?

So is the recent work at Strasburg shop done on an original boiler or a replacement?
