Today I unexpectedly encountered BOTH of the operating K28s in Silverton, along with 482. All three trains consisted of 10 cars and were very well patronized on a really beautiful day.

482 crossing the rushing but clear Animas river (until recently the river has been very silty). "Clear" would not be a fitting description for the stack exhaust from 482, the engine laying down a massive smoke screen.
The next two trains were led by 473 and 476 respectively. It was good to see the two 470s earning their keep by hauling substantial trains into Silverton
