Kyle

In looking at the various lives of the CATS, I think the most significant, other than the original saving of the railroad, is what Kyle Railways accomplished. They took a very shaky C&TS and put it on a reasonably stable business basis. Kyle basically showed that with a good product, some modest marketing, and efficient management the C&TS could basically cover its operating costs, which made it a much more reasonable "political" proposition.. The "Kyle business model", while tinkered with in detail, is what is allowing today's C&TS to have a positive future.
