The trust plates would remain on the property until the trust that bought them expired. I recall growing up in Western PA the eastern end of the PRR yard in Pitcarin/Trafford ( Cavitsville is what I recall it being called) was loaded with relatively new steam locomotives. This would have been after the fires were dropped for the last time in 1957. It wasn't until the early to mid 1960's did they start to disappear, after the trust contracts had expired. [
