Driving down the road towards the bottom of the incline I began wondering why the road did not follow the incline as many have done. I could see the incline coming down from above the road and then intersecting the road at a gentle angle. The answer was right at the intersection: there was a sizeable trestle on the incline. The photo below is looking across the trestle location up towards the incline. The road is on the right had side skirting the trestle location:
I would guess the trestle was about 80-100 feet long and about 30-40 feet high.
The photo below shows the spot where one of the bents had been located:
You can see the depression between the burnt and fallen trees.
Further down the road is on top of the grade:
We are almost at the bottom of the incline looking back up it.
There was some miscellaneous pipe off the side of the grade:
