Since I was right next to it, I decided to visit the Fire Lookout on Signal Peak (Devil Peak):
The Fire Lookout employee Buddy (and his dog) greeted me. Buddy has one of the best views in the world and has been doing this for 15 years. Here's the view to the west:
Roundtree Saddle (where one of MSP's branches ran to) is located on the ridge in the middle left. I drove this ridge's road system from right to left to get access to the MSP country. The Coast Range mountains in the far distance are located on the far side of the Central Valley.
Here's the view to the east:
Yosemite is located in the far background. Buddy pointed out the very top of Half Dome which was barely visible in the center-right distance. What an incredible view to have from your office!
Buddy said about 1-5 people visit him per day, mostly on weekends.
