Jeff is right, we have three revenue cars utilizing roller bearings now: the 212, 314 and 413. As we build new trucks, or revamp some old freight trucks, we will slowly use roller bearings in the future. But it won't be a quick conversion, by any means. From the experience of the Knight Sky (314), wheel wear has been improved on the roller bearing trucks. Probably from the better lateral tolerances promoting more even wear, I'm sure. We will see how the other two cars fare. Some have asked if we will cover the bearings with fake journal boxes, to disguise their true nature. I'm against this for two reasons: Why fake what it is? And inspection of the bearings each day would be hampered by a fake cover. This is just another (belated) advance for our rolling stock. Why hide it? Thank you all for your interest.
