Many commercial copy machines have the capability of making 11"x17" copies. That is two 8.5x11 sheets side-by-side. This is often called "tabloid" size today. It is also what engineers using the ANSI designation (not architects) call a "B-size."
Places life the FedEx Store and others often have printers and scanners like the "wide format" ones used by engineers and architects. These will generally take documents up to 36" wide x whatever length.
