In my experience, erecting drawings were accurately made to scale, so you can take some of dimensions that are there to determine what scale your drawing is printed to. From there, you can scale from the drawing to build your model.

Ironically, most of the part drawings were not made to scale, but of a generic part. Dimensions were all letters and referred to a table on the drawing saying what dimension went with each letter. Sometimes that table was good for making that part in a dozen different sizes (some being way out of proportion with others). Accordingly, you have to know which line of the table refers to the size part that your engine needs.
