It's interesting that this locomotive still has a side-hinged fire door as opposed to the pneumatic type found on the later locomotives. If my memory serves me correctly, the D&RGW installed pneumatic doors on some older locomotives in the 1920s, and I assume this was not one of them. Will the C&TS put on a pneumatic door or keep the manual one? Which type of door would the crew prefer, and is there a significant difference in efficiency from one type to another?
