The diesels are kept across the line for rescue, work trains, and fire. They usually use #1 as the switcher, #7 tends to be in Silverton. and the other two usually are in Hermosa, Rockwood, or in the main yard. Whenever I am there in the summer I almost always see Big Al in Silverton. I do not know about 1203 but I guess she will end up in Rockwood for rescue duties due to her better mainline ability and to run the short cascade canyon trains from Rockwood till the new diesels arrive.
