When I visited in 1962 I believe it was still there although I can't find it in any of my pix and I am fairly certain the turntable was gone. The railroad was in its final few years of being a (dieselized) dockside terminal operation shunting pallets of canned pineapples from the canneries to the the ships. I'm guessing it may have come down when the local transit agency turned the nearby rail passenger terminal into a bus palace.
