There are 2 different issues, recording processes is easier, I have often used YouTube etc to look up how to do something.

Volunteers are generally older, good news is that there will be more of them going forward, bad news is that fewer will be familiar with Trains, they will be poorer, probably sicker, on average older and less mobile.
