There are a couple of photos of the exterior of the Durango sand house and its tower at [ngdiscussion.net].  I presume the interior held the same equipment as the sand house in Chama, which IIRC has been restored recently.  Several months ago Richard Braden (aka employee2) posted a thorough explanation of the sand drying process during the early years of the of C&TS — see [ngdiscussion.net].
