It appears that the street was widened to the left after the railroad was removed. that might explain why the buildings to the left of the original photo are no longer there. Back in those days, traffic lanes were 10 feet wide (nowadays tha has been expanded to 12 feet), so that the edge of the railroad ROWsould have been 20 feet from the curb... however it looks like the parking lane was narrower then than now. In the second set, notice that the train just skirts the stone wall around the church... at the left end of today's road. It's difficult to say even if there was a road adjacent to the track. In the modern photo, the curb moves out and covers the former ROW.
