On July 3, 1941 Bob Richardson was in Santa Fe, New Mexico and took a couple of photos of D&RGW Train No. 426 (Led by locomotive No. 473) as it ran up Guadalupe Street a couple blocks north of the depot, beginning its run from Santa Fe to Antonito.
Nearly 80 years later, much has changed, but the location of the photos can still be identified...............
On July 3, 1941, No. 473 leads its train past a distinctive stone building with a brick façade
Roughly the same view, sans train, plus many more autos, March 13, 2019.
A moment after taking the photo above, Bob Richardson turned around and caught the tail end of the train as it passed by the Santuario de Guadalupe church.
The scene has become a little more "big city" in March of 2019.
