Is it really cheaper? Not according to the abandonment filing. Each full train is, a 5 man crew, correct (7 with a helper)? And at railroad wages. And there is the switch crew, and the hostlers, and the maintenance of water infrastructure, and the Chama turns. I think you are easily looking at 20 man-days of labor to get that lumber train from Durango to Alamosa.
