Thanks Ross!
Great information. Sorry but after comparing the two manufacturers it is hard to ignore the obvious omissions of detail by Accucraft. On the other hand, Berlyn Models although extremely detailed suffered from extremely poor wiring which had to be repaired before they operated consistently. Accucraft on the other hand, does not have as much detail but they do run smoothly. They both have strengths and weaknesses. Just depends on the aspect of which you are modeling.
I agree with you regarding the differences in modelers...my outdoor electric/battery buddies are not that wrapped up in scale operations where I am. They run narrow gauge trains doing 40-50 scale mph with a mixed bag of standard and narrow gauge cars with no engineer or fireman figures. They also have a spaghetti mess of tracks going all over the place. Thankfully this is a hobby in which we all can enjoy whatever aspect of model railroading we personally enjoy. The best part of this hobby is this crowd is open to share their knowledge of Narrow Gauge.
Thanks again,
Jon
