In 2000 I did a trip which started in Denver, from there I went to Chama (via Walsenberg, Alamosa, and Cumbres Pass), Durango, then back to Colorado Springs (via Silverton, Ouray, Gunnison, and the north side of Pike's Peak). Time did not permit a tour of the old RGS beyond that of Ouray, Once based back at Colo Springs, I did CRM, the Loop, the cog, and Cripple Creek & Victor; plus, of course, the C&T and D&S earlier. This was strictly a paved highway trip, no travels up dirt roads.
