Actually,
Something like that happened during the filming of a Hollywood movie in the 1970's. A WWII fighter was needed for some aerial sequences over the Grand Canyon. When the filming wrapped up late in the day, the pilot and his girlfriend took off for a fuel stop in Tonopah on the way to California. For some reason, the pilot got disoriented and saw an airfield in the desert that he thought was Tonopah and landed there. As he taxied up to what he thought was the terminal and fuel island he witnessed numerous jeeps with troops and machine guns come up out of underground ramps. He and his girlfriend were ordered at gunpoint out of the fighter, were immediately blindfolded and then taken back underground. It turns out he had landed at Area 51 during the time the Stealth Fighter was being tested. They were interrogated for several hours, threatened with prison time and the loss of his airplane, and then finally allowed to leave after dark. The pilot was given a very explicit radio directed course with numerous course changes out of the area towards California. The pilot was told that if he disobeyed the instructions, he would instantly become a target...
I'm leaving the name of the pilot and type of fighter off this post, but some of you might be able to piece together who & which airplane this was if you have a good knowledge of movies from that era...
