I submit the photos I choose with the text. I indicate to the editor the ones I think are essential to tell the story. I was a photographer/photojournalist in the Air Force for 22 years and have a degree in journalism from the U of Maryland 1969, so I learned a long time ago to give an editor more photos than he has space for. Give him a variety of angles, both horizontal and vertical shots. Often an editor has to select a photo from the submissions based on the space he has for it. Often there is some back and forth messaging and sometimes the editor will ask for more shots or different views. The Prospector editor is also the editor for other railroad historical society publications so he has a lot of experience in this type of article. Magazines never use all the photos I send as they never have that much space, I want them to use all of my photos but that would take 200 pages...SMILE
